Bengaluru, June 2026: For the first time, the sacred Ganga Aarti of Varanasi — performed every evening on the ghats of Kashi by our priests — will be brought to the heart of Bengaluru as part of one of the city’s most anticipated upcoming cultural events.
Shri Ganga Aarti Events, based in Varanasi and the official organizer of Ganga Aarti ceremonies across India, has been selected as the Ganga Aarti performer at the Green Circuit and Bengaluru Heritage Hubba — a landmark cultural and fitness celebration organized by BNM Institute of Technology in partnership with the Vikasana Foundation.
The event takes place on 14 June 2026, starting at 5:00 AM at National College, Basavanagudi, Bengaluru. Among the event’s highlights — which include a 10K Cycle Rally, 3K Fun Run, 5K and 10K Timed Runs, Yoga, Zumba, Malakambha, Standup Comedy, Live Concert, and Bhajan and Retro Jamming — the Ganga Aarti stands as the sacred spiritual centrepiece of the day.

The Banaras Ganga Aarti — Now in Namma Bengaluru
The Ganga Aarti is one of the most spiritually powerful and visually stunning ceremonies in the Hindu tradition. Performed every single evening on Dashashwamedh Ghat and Assi Ghat in Varanasi without interruption for centuries, it is a ritual offering to Maa Ganga — a complete sacred ceremony involving blazing brass lamps, Vedic chanting, conch shells, sacred incense, and the full seven-step sequence that has remained unchanged across generations.
What makes the Ganga Aarti at the Bengaluru Heritage Hubba exceptional is authenticity. Our priests travelling to Bengaluru for this event are not performers trained to recreate the Aarti — they are the same Kashi pandits who perform the Ganga Aarti on the ghats of Varanasi every evening. The same hands, the same tradition, the same prayer — now in the heart of Bengaluru.
About the Green Circuit & Bengaluru Heritage Hubba
The Green Circuit and Bengaluru Heritage Hubba is a celebration of Bengaluru’s identity — its heritage, its people, its green spirit, and its civic energy. Organized by BNM Institute of Technology and the Vikasana Foundation, the event brings together fitness, culture, sustainability, and devotion in a single day.
The event’s fitness programme is certified at the highest level — the route has been certified by World Athletics in cooperation with AIMS, making the 10K Timed Run and 5K Timed Run officially measured and verified. Fitness partner for the event is StayFit.
Alongside the athletic events, the Heritage Hubba celebrates Bengaluru’s cultural soul — with Malakambha (the ancient Indian pole gymnastics tradition), Bhajan and Retro Jamming, Live Concert, Yoga, and the Ganga Aarti together on one stage. This blend of the ancient and the contemporary, the physical and the spiritual, is what makes the event a genuine Heritage Hubba in the truest sense.

Why the Ganga Aarti at a Bengaluru Heritage Event Makes Perfect Sense
Bengaluru is home to one of the largest North Indian communities outside the Hindi belt — millions of people from UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh who have made the city home while carrying their devotional traditions with them. For these families, the Ganga Aarti is not a novelty — it is a deeply familiar act of worship, a memory of evenings on the Ganga, of home.
At the same time, for Bengaluru’s Kannada community and for the city’s vast cosmopolitan population, the Ganga Aarti is a window into one of India’s oldest living ritual traditions — an opportunity to experience, in the open air of Basavanagudi, what thousands travel to Varanasi to witness.
The Heritage Hubba format — which celebrates Bengaluru’s layered identity — is precisely the right context for the Ganga Aarti. India’s heritage is not only architectural or textual. It is living, practised, and present. The Ganga Aarti on 14 June at National College will be exactly that — living heritage, in Bengaluru.
A Message From Shri Ganga Aarti Events
We are honoured to bring the Ganga Aarti of Varanasi to Bengaluru for the Green Circuit and Heritage Hubba. Our priests travel from Kashi carrying the same tradition, the same prayer, and the same devotion they bring to the ghats every evening. Whether you have stood on the banks of the Ganga before or are experiencing the Aarti for the very first time — we invite you to Basavanagudi on the morning of 14 June and receive the blessings of Maa Ganga in the heart of Namma Bengaluru.
We look forward to this moment. Har Har Gange.
